Screaming, shouting, glasses being thrown and smashing against the walls and fists banging against the boardroom table at a tension filled Samsung HQ in Seoul.
Then a shy, introverted intern who has barely uttered a word since she started last summer stutters, "What about LeBron James?"
"The magic of the documentary “Linsanity” isn’t so much that it captures the stranger-than-fiction rise of Jeremy Lin from basketball nobody to NBA stardom."
It’s that it makes you feel as if you could be watching someone you know — a brother, cousin, best friend — and that the moments being captured are as authentic as the New York Knicks jersey hanging from Lin’s shoulders.
The unfettered access that rookie director Evan Jackson Leong was granted starting with Lin’s career at Harvard provides an intimate portrait of a sometimes goofy, always lovable player just trying to prove he belongs on basketball’s biggest stage."
"Meet The Untouchables, the world’s most exciting touch rugby team. Featuring a mix of male and female athletes, The Untouchables will be showcasing their skills on the O2 Touch tour from February – April 2013.
To describe singer, songwriter, dancer and friend of fizzYcaL Shaka Lish as a yoga enthusiast would be an understatement. She's been bending our ear about Ashtanga for months and we're very glad she has. Even the most basic of basic moves have improved our flexibility.
So committed is Shaka to her practice that for this video she performed her full hour long routine whilst we filmed. We didn't have the heart to disturb her serenity so half way through we popped to the pub. Only joking!
When we weren't filming we were being convinced more and more of the need to drop some yoga into our exercise regime.
When you find yourself asking:
"How strong and agile are we really if we can't stand completely straight on one leg whilst holding the big toe of the other leg with barely a wobble?"
"If I tried to do that everyday could I wrap my leg around my body like that too?"
You got to give yoga a try. Ah...and another one:
"How is she managing to stay so focussed in this heat and noise?"
Being the quirky folk we are, we thought it'd be kinda cool to have yoga performed in a very different setting. And it doesn't get any more different than the basketball courts under the busy Westway motorway in the heart of Central London.
So enjoy the video that we've nicknamed 'zen meets chaos' starring yogi Shaka Lish.
We're steadily becoming big fans of wheelchair basketball. We played a few years ago and were lucky enough to get invited as guests to the World Wheelchair Basketball Championships in 2010. So we were pretty chuffed to be asked if we'd like to come along to the Basketball Arena at the Olympic Park to watch last night's play.
Unfortunately GB were playing at London's O2 arena but as honorary Australian's we were happy to lend our support to them as the women battled with Canada and the men took on Spain.
The Sheilas lost to Canada, 50 to 57, but the Blokes obliterated Spain, 75 to 59.
Both matches were stoopidly exciting and the atmosphere was electric. If you ever get the chance to go see a match it is an opportunity not to be missed.
And if you are able-bodied and curious about giving wheelchair basketball a go but are having reservations...don't! Here's why?
1. You'll love it.
2. Once you've done it you'll rave about it so much that you'll help build awareness for the sport.
3. Hire of courts, chairs and an instructor to show you the ropes helps wheelchair basketball clubs with their funding.
So think team building, a birthday party or part of a stag/hen weekend. You won't regret it!
So Team GB are currently third in the medal table behind super powers China and America. Get in (British phrase used when a significant accomplishment has been achieved)!!!
Surpassing the Beijing haul the British athletes will no doubt be inspiring a generation of young people to don spikes.
Or the youth may choose instead to follow in the...proprioception of the 'alternative Team GB,' Storm Freerun.
"This last year has been anything but normal for Claressa," aka T-Rex.
"She turned 17 years old. She finished her junior year of high school. She lived in 4 different houses. She was named "Most Outstanding Boxer" at the Olympic Trials.
She flew on a plane for the first time in her life. She beat the number 1 ranked female middleweight boxer in the world. She became a member of the USA Boxing team. She finally moved in with her coach and his family. In August, she'll be the youngest woman to ever box in the Olympics."
T-Rex is set to be a historical documentary but it needs your backing. If you're inspired by Claressa's story then you can donate to the project here.
The last time we saw Jack (aka JJ) Crawford we could just about look him in the eye on tip toes. Now the fella towers a good bit above us, has acquired a transatlantic accent and gained a spot as a rookie with the NFL's Oakland Raiders.
We're so proud right now! All the best JJ and if we sort out the flight over to the States any chance you can get us some tickets for a game? VIP of course ;-)
In the first of our series of fizzYcaL video profiles featuring notable people in the world of sport and fitness, we talk to former estate agent and devout smoker who quit a 100-a-day cigarette habit at the age of 37 and embarked on a fitness journey of a lifetime.
Now 52 years young, Andrew Stemler's life experiences have moulded him into one of the best and the most passionate health and fitness professionals in the UK.
"Cancer killed my mother, depression killed my brother, heart disease and dementia turned my dad into a zombie. Sure death is inevitable, but it's how we get there and in what state we arrive that really counts."
Andrew's route has taken him from estate agent, to law student, to nightclub bouncer, to now lead trainer and owner of the first CrossFit gym outside of the Americas and 20th affiliate in the world.
If you've hit a plateau with your training, or are new to exercise and want expert how-to guidance with a touch of well placed quirky humour your first step should be to visit CrossFit London UK for more info on Andrew and his gym.
Twitter users have a chance to win a one to one session with the man himself at CrossFit London UK by simply tweeting the video link [http://youtu.be/udNcQ8DwKlE] before the 9th of August 2012.
These two minutes of inspiration come courtesy of extreme athlete Kilian Jornet. The Catalonian is just 23 years old but is already top of his game as an ultrarunner, ski mountaineer, mountain biker and duathlete.
'Summits Of My Life' is a five year mission to, as he says, "climb and descend some of the most spectacular mountains in the world as quickly as possible."
For more info on this extra-ordinary athlete and his project head on over to SummitsOfMyLife.com
'Peter Brings The Shadow To Life' is a short film devised by Joe Pease and inspired by a Peter Pan essay.
The most notable paragraph of the essay is:
"It is not uncommon for children to play with their shadows or to imagine that they are tangible. However, in order to grow up, children must leave behind this fantasy...no one ever fully grows up. Instead, growing up is a process that continues throughout life."
Inspired by Cirque Du Soleil Canadian Julien Roberge is on a mission to popularise the sport of Wall Trampolining.
It's still in its infancy at the moment and Julien has begun to create a set of judging criteria to make wall trampolining more acceptable as a sport.
Viral vids posted by Julien and other wall trampolinists have helped to spark a lot of interest amongst extreme sports enthusiasts and parkourist. The hope is that one day we'll get to see wall trampolining at the X Games.
24 year old Kilian Martin, the man almost single handedly responsible for rejuvenating freestyle skating, teams up with his friend and film-maker Brett Novak again in a video entitled 'Altered Route.'
Created in conjunction with Mercedes-Benz the focus though is placed not on any cars but squarely on Kilian's skate skills which Brett expertly captures.
The location is a deserted theme park which gives the video an errie but very cool edge.
Danny MacAskill's crew The Clan, the only UK stunt cycling team that features female members is running a competition called She-Rad to find a new lass to join them.
The departure to Canada of one of their star women, Lynne Aitchison, has left an opening for a bmxer or dirt jumper to fill her shoes for this summer's round of Scottish events and school tours.
All entrants for She-Rad will receive expert training before a lucky winner is selected.
The Clan manager Iain Withers says, "It's important to have diversity in our team and especially to ensure a female rider is present to show all the girls out there riding is not just for boys."
The new member will perform alongside The Clan's top quality stunt cycling talent and add to the sister count which includes Polly Harrison and Ashley Bird. Here's Ashley showing all the girls that riding is not just for the boys:
£5000.00 is up for grabs for the winner of the She-Rad competition but it ends on the 20th April so ladies hustle, hustle and get emailing Iain at iain@mb7.com.
Adidas the official Olympic sponsors have begun their Take The Stage campaign in the run up to the 2012 games.
The clever campaign puts a spotlight on up and coming talent that would other whys be eclipsed by coverage of 2012's Olympians.
British powerlifter, Monique Newton is one such talent and the little stick of dynamite is followed by adidas to Latvia for the World Powerlifting Championships.
Hats off to adidas for shining a light on the inspirational Miss Newton. We look forward to seeing more from her in the future.
