We Had A Wheelie Good Time At The Basketball...

We're steadily becoming big fans of wheelchair basketball. We played a few years ago and were lucky enough to get invited as guests to the World Wheelchair Basketball Championships in 2010. So we were pretty chuffed to be asked if we'd like to come along to the Basketball Arena at the Olympic Park to watch last night's play.

Unfortunately GB were playing at London's O2 arena but as honorary Australian's we were happy to lend our support to them as the women battled with Canada and the men took on Spain.

The Sheilas lost to Canada, 50 to 57, but the Blokes obliterated Spain, 75 to 59.

Both matches were stoopidly exciting and the atmosphere was electric. If you ever get the chance to go see a match it is an opportunity not to be missed.

And if you are able-bodied and curious about giving wheelchair basketball a go but are having reservations...don't! Here's why?

1. You'll love it.

2. Once you've done it you'll rave about it so much that you'll help build awareness for the sport.

3. Hire of courts, chairs and an instructor to show you the ropes helps wheelchair basketball clubs with their funding.

So think team building, a birthday party or part of a stag/hen weekend. You won't regret it!
