You're likely to be no stranger to the Afro-Brazilian art form called Capoeira. A musical martial art established sometime after the sixteenth century and which blends many traditional African fighting styles. The musical and dancing elements of capoeira are thought by some historians to have been incorporated by African slaves to disguise the fighting style as a form of dance.
There are many capoeira interpretations and forms and as with all long standing disciplines new adaptations are born.
Mr Ido Portal champions a sub-art of capoeria called "Floreio" which incorporates "a very sophisticated form of flow floor work."
