The London Borough of Camden will soon be unveiling the newest in outdoor gyms. I'd seen one of these for the first time in Barcelona in 2004. The Barça gym had the staples: the pull-up bar, rings and dips but they also had a running machine of sorts - a frame with a large drum cylinder at the bottom.
But the Camden gyms are a step up. Some of the workout stations they have are pretty ingenious (die hard bodyweight enthusiasts may scoff) as they use the body’s weight to provide the resistance. So for e.g. the pec dec uses your seated weight to provide the resistance.
