Yesterday Ghana celebrated 55 years of independence and our Ghanaian friends no doubt were Azonto-ing the night away, with a belly full of Fufu, washed down with Star and or Gulder beer for good measure!
And no doubt the 70's afrobeat and high life tracks would have been resurrected and the sounds of one K.Frimpong would have been dominating!
"Kyenkyen Bi Adi Mawu" a track which made the late great Ghanaian King of high life popular would have been reloaded, rewound and spun again and again. Recorded in the 1970's the start of the song sounds very much like something some progressive hip hop group would sample.
