Last Weekend I Was Mostly...

walking the British Countryside with Pitstone and Ivinghoe Family and Friends (PIFF). The mastermind of John "The Recitationer" Byrom, PIFF is a group predominantly made up of inspirational, age defying beer swilling, whisky downing Grandparents. These remarkable "Super Elders," come together every few months for a good old walk in the great outdoors.

The venue for our walk was Shropshire...the walking trails around the Elizabethan Wilderhope Manor to be exact. Being the urbanite I am I didn't let the side down and came fully ill-equipped with hoodie, baggy combats and mesh trainers.

Whilst The Recitationer led the rabbling elders, Mat "John 'The Recitationer' Byrom Mark II" Byrom led the younger A+ team on a 21 mile walk. Having recently completed three marathons in three days and proudly brandishing an achilles injury Mat led his team unabated up and down the Shropshire Countryside.

The A+ team was made up of 5 fizzYcaL fellas (me included) and 2 femme fizzYcaLs. The absence of more ladies due in considerable part to fatigue caused by a walrus like snorer in the girls dorm who like some incredible escapologist emerged from the weekend unscathed!

Checkout the pics below of the weekend and read this here post about the benefits of walking by our mate Gubernatrix.

Our lodgings for the weekend - Wilderhope Manor.
