Zero Degree Channel Crossing...

Over the last year and a half wearing my other hat I've had the pleasure of working with a small group of sporting administrators. These unsung heroes are the behind the scenes brokers who tirelessy and passionately work to further their beloved sports.

One such individual is Guin Batten, a British rower who won silver at the 2000 Summer Olympics in the quadruple scull and who in in 2003, set the record for the fastest solo crossing of the English Channel in an Olympic-class rowing shell (3 hours and 14 minutes).

Guin recently added another record breaking triumph to her resumé by becoming the first person to row solo across the Zero Degree Channel (7 hours and 16 minutes). The challenge sort to revive interest in the sport of rowing in the Maldives:
